This is what I have been up to recently
acehotel:

Textile artist Travis Meinolf performed a public weaving for six days in our Ace London lobby. Local artist Max Lamb — who also helped us design our lobby bar — joined him to build a custom loom on which he wove skeins of flecked Irish Donegal wool into a 30-foot long blanket. The performance connected those who would ultimately use the blanket directly to Meinolf’s production process. He travels all over the world to weave in this way — using his performances to engage with his audience and share ideas. And sometimes, like here, to share space under a warm wool blanket.
"Since the pleasure is in the making, sharing is easy and adds a sense of communal well-being.” — Travis Meinolf

I’ve been working on this and other big commissions lately, and preparing my big move to California (one week!). Many updates once we settle in and outfit ourselves with a home office! Action Weaver goes West!
